A welcome sign

I always have a habit of buying something I like, especially if it's on sale, and then storing it away,..... and then forgetting about it. Looking for my buttonhole attachment, I found this wall hanging in a drawer still in it's plastic wrap and label. I think it was around 12 years ago when I purchased it! The original price on it was $3.97 and I got it on clearance for $1.50. I do remember painting a couple of them and giving them to friends. Now I wish I had bought more,.....what a great thing for etsy, now that I know about the wonderful world of Internet.{:
With the potted plants and watering can, this would be perfect to paint and hang in my greenhouse. I wish there was a way to hang it on the door of the greenhouse. There are only panels and frame work. Any ideas as to how to hang it anywhere in there?
I especially love the little bees with their plastic wings! They are on wires that make them look like they are buzzing around.

The plastic winged dragon flies are so sweet. They too are on wires to give an appearance of flying. I wish I could have the assistance of Marjolein Bastin! She could make this come to life! I guess I will get my box of paints out and work on a couple of things at a time. I don't want to rush finishing it and make it look like paint was just thrown on it( that's usually what happens when I get in a hurry to paint something.

that sign is so cute! I can't wait to see how you paint it.

I would try hanging it with a suction cup or one of those 3M hooks?

Have a wonderful day!

Kathleen- drive a small nail or screw into the very top of the picket fence (in the middle one), then get some picture frame wire or twine and tie around it, and you're ready to hang it on a nail on your greenhouse!

Me again, Kathleen... I meant for you to drive the nail or screw in the back of the little fence show it won't show- I know you knew that already, though...

This is such a cute sign. It will be fun to paint and can't wait to see the finish. There is a product called Stay Tak....this might work. It reminds me of a piece of clay. You just pinch a piece off and you can use it over and over....has lots of uses. Linda

Ugh, I'm so stupid, Kathleen... I see now what you mean about not having anything to hang it to...
You can buy double sided tape at Walmart that's made by 3M... it will stick to anything and will not come off once it adheres, even if it gets wet.
I would probably use something like that!

I love the art of Marjolein Bastin. I have the most lovely cross stitch pattern of birds at a feeder created from one of her paintings. I discovered it while browing through my old patterns last week.

Whenever I want to hang something on a door but don't want to put a hole in it, I take my twine or jute or string and nail it into the top of the door so that the nail is flat and the door will close. Then I tied my wreath to the length of string. Of course, I like the prim look so it suits me fine but it might not be attractive for a more sophisticated look. Of course, you could always use satin ribbon and do the same thing. That might look really pretty.

Blessings,
Lea
