My Cup Of Cheer

The stitches are all done and in place..........

the border is on.....

as well as the backing.....

the quilt is finished!

It is a little larger than my usual miniature quilts. I wanted a cheery wall hanging to greet guests as they walk in....this little quilt is 24 x24 inches. Instead of "my cup runneth over" ...I titled it..." My Cup Of Cheer". I really enjoyed designing and embroidering this quilt. When I finally decided on the border....it just popped..."cheery!" I am now thinking on something larger.....more for the bedroom. I have never finished a full size quilt....I think now I will! How about you? Have any of you made a full size quilt? How long did it take? Did you purchase the fabric or is the material from loved one's garments? I would love to hear!

What a work of art. No words to describe how pretty those tedious little stitches are. You should be very proud of yourself.

Kathleen, you've done a marvelous job on that small quilt, so obviously you are well able to do a bigger one. It will just take a little longer. :)

It has turned out beautifully.
I'm sure you will be able to make a gorgeous full size quilt. As for time, I guess it depends on how much time you have to spend on stitching and how much detail will go into it.

Hi Kathleen , I love your cup of cheer ! And the baby booties are just precious !
I am learning to embroider and I love it . I showed a set of pillowcases on my blog not long ago and sold them. I was so thrilled. It encouraged me so much, to keep at it .

This little quilt is so gorgeous, I'm fascinated at how it's done, was it pieced and then embroidered over the top? I have made 3 full size patchwork quilts, the first one all by hand then the others by machine, I stopped quilting some years ago but of late my fingers and heart are wandering in this direction, so maybe!!!!

Even though I am learning patchwork, I have no desire to make a full size quilt, but I think I could manage one like this. Lovely work, Kathleen!
