I love to see designs with baskets

loaded down with flowers............don't you? This little design

was in with a load of vintage designs that a customer gave to me last year. She told me that she had once enjoyed embroidery and wanted to pass the designs on to someone who would enjoy using them as much as she did. I was over- joyed and humbled at her sweet gesture.

I also love designs that have vines and flowers trailing in this or that direction.  This design will be stitched on various towels for my booth sales and Etsy shop. Do you have vintage designs that you love to embroider or that is on a particular linen?

I also picked up my crochet hook this past weekend and made a few plaid potholders for later sales. I love flannel shirts because of their plaid design and was so thrilled when I learned how to incorporate the plaid design into my crochet! My plan is to use up all of my overflowing crochet yarn..........and try not to buy anymore until I have done so.............I know I won't be able to make that plan work out.............yarn calls to me from the store shelves.........sigh.
How about you?

What beautiful embroidery! I love it and do it..but it's not my favourite thing to do... I have lots of old dollies...so can you actually restore them?

More beautiful work!! I really like the vintage patterns. I have a few and hope someone will be able to take them someday and make something wonderful with them.

I also crochet; mostly baby afghans. I have made a few doilies but with my hands, working with the smaller thread is difficult. I like your plaid designs.

Those plaid potholders are very pretty and unique. Did you come up with that design?
I love any embroidery design that looks old fashioned. I stitched up some fruit designs onto towels from some old Work Basket transfers and really liked the way they turned out.

That was one smart and sweet customer to pass along those designs to someone who would make great use of them. Your work is so beautiful and must take lots of patience. Those dishcloths are fabulous! Haven't seen any worked up like that before. I always have a plan to use up what I have and am doing so at the moment but anytime I want to start something different, I always want different yarn. :) Hope your day is great. It is hot and dusty here. Yuck! Best wishes, Tammy

Hi Kathleen,

I have many old dresser scarves that have baskets of flowers. They really are pretty...and about that yarn. If I get within 5 miles of a yarn shop I MUST go see what they have. I'm a fingering weight wool crocheter. I love the feel of it. ♥

Hugs,
Stephanie ♥

I found an embroidered spread this past week, very similar to the one you have posted.I normally don't pay much for things of that nature,at yard sales and consignments shops, but it was soooo pretty. I gave $3.99 for the spread. I love it.I use to embroider a little, but it was never my most favorite craft, but some things just touch you in a way, you must have them around you. That spread did that for me.
