Thursday...........

the last day of the set to show you since I have posted all of these last Friday. I have to say.........this is my favorite design out of the whole set.

These are my favorite dishes out of my collection..........Homer Laughlen, Virginia Rose. I have loved this since I first saw it at my Grandmother's house.....when I was young, ..............so many years ago..........

Any time I am lucky enough to find a piece of this, I grab it up, even if it is chipped.  The embroidery is finished on this set, I still need  to embroider the decorative stitch on the bottom edge of each towel. I am going to keep this set for myself and hang each one every day of the week in my kitchen. I might embroider another set for my shop at a later date.  For this week, I will leave this set of embroidered towels to go over once again..............then maybe my mind and my  needle will have created something new after this week is over.
Have a great creative week ahead!

I knew it just had to be a plate! And, I just knew you had to have some HLC too! I have several pieces of the Virginia Rose. Did you see my post about HLC?

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching for each new towel and I certainly don't blame you for keeping them for yourself!

Your instructions for making the closed blanket stitch was helpful. Thanks!

Beautiful absolutely beautiful, and I love to hear stories about grandmothers, my grandmother had such a profound effect on me, and she made all of her clothes, and was an avid quilter.but most of all she was a great Christian.

Gosh, I can't believe you stitched all seven in one week! They are all beautiful, and will greatly enhance your kitchen I'm sure. I wish I could do that! I guess if I put my mind to it, I could, but so many other things get in the way of a quiet hour or so of stitching...

I went back today to look at the whole set, and it is just beautiful!!!! I love it all. I'm especially drawn to pitchers and creamers --- don't know why, but I love them. the one picture with the faded violets on it ---- I'm sure that is handpainted by a somewhat of a beginner china painter. I took lessons for several years in china painting and loved every minute of it. But when I look at my beginning work (which I thought was a masterpiece) and then later pieces, I knew that my first pieces lacked the depth and crispness that you learn to do as time goes on. You did a beautiful job with the embroidery --- but then, you ALWAYS do!!!!!

Your embroidery work is just so perfect and beautiful! I hardly ever keep anything I make so good for you keeping this set for yourself. I have a feeling you are speedy gonzales with needle and thread and could whip up another set in no time. :) Hope your day is great. Tammy
