I finished stitching up baby items

that I previously posted about............
and they are now for sale in my Etsy shop
a collection of bibs created with nostalgic charm..........

and sweet baby shoes in sweet baby colors.
Now it's time to create something else.............

and at this time of year I have a lot of inspiration. The grounds here on the farm are bursting in vibrant colors from the Zinnia gardens I have planted.
Zinnia are my favorite flowers.

They always have the prettiest color palate.......from soft pastels

to bold and vibrant. I love them!

And what can be the best inspiration for an embroidery artist?............
to have a delightful , brightly colored visitor to buzz in and around the flowers. This is a perfect picture for embroidery design.......don't you think?

Also...............my favorite thing to grow are pumpkins. Every year I plant pumpkins out in the back of the grounds...........delighting in a walk to go out and see them. This year, I wanted to be able to look out of my window as I am writing and to see these large leaf vines and enormous orange globes. So I planted them in the front yard. As you can see, it turned out to be a good spot.
I have a pumpkin still growing and it is already 49 inches around! I also have decorative gourds growing. To see these and to read more on that subject, hop over to the farm blog by clicking onto the link.........

So tell me. What is growing in your gardens now that fall is on the way?
What inspires you most..............butterflies gracefully floating and flitting..............
or a pollen heavy bumble bee making it's rounds to each flower?
I would love to hear!

Kathleen, your baby bibs and shoes are sooo darling!! I love them. I hope you sell them all in your shop. I wish I knew of a baby on the way, I would make a purchase. Well, I do know of one, but it's too soon to tell. We are praying for the best because she has had two miscarriages already. But we are in faith that this time will be good.

I also have a few questions about fresh farm eggs, so when I get a chance I will email you if that's alright.

Your pumpkin patch looks like it did well in the front. The zinnias are so pretty and oh, yes, I do think that the precious bumble bee in the flower is perfectly inspiring for embroidery.

Thank you for visiting, and for your sweet comment about the card ideas.

Blessings my dear Kathleen,

Marianne xo

VERY sweet baby items! I've just purchased a pattern called Monday's Child with transfers for the sayings, "Monday's child is full of grace..." etc. I'm hoping to put them in a baby quilt somehow.

I love zinnias too, Kathleen.

I made two lampshades recently from embroidery pieces that were damaged beyond repair. I wish I had taken pictures of them before I took them to my shop. I think you would have liked them.

How lovely to have color and pumpkins growing right outside your window. Still hot as heck here and things aren't doing so well. Many plants on my balconies succumbed to the summer heat so will have to be replaced. Always so nice to see your pretty embroidery work. Wishing you a fabulous Friday! Tammy

My front yard is the size of a postage stamp but I would love to have a pumpkin vine out there..then no mowing. Your favorites (zinnias and pumpkins) are my favorites too. If those were all I could have I would be happy.

Lovely flowers!! I too have planted zinnias and they have given lovely flowers . But now the flowering season is ending here and the flowers have reduced in size. Also the plant leaves have started curling even if I water them regularly. Did you face any such problem?
