I love to applique

and most of the time, I applique flowers,
But this time...........I decided to make myself...........
a cup of tea.
(click on photos for a better view)

and I had to embellish it ............with embroidery..........
just a bit...........
the perfect cup of tea........along with the tea bag
so delightful............

I fixed myself another cup...........and decided the bag needed some embroidery as well.
How about you?
Do you like to applique?
Do you add embroidery when you do?
I would love to hear!

I also posted a wonderful chocolate mousse recipe on my cooking blog..........
hop over for the recipe by clicking onto this link

Oh that is just gorgeous! I am a sucker for cups and teapots craft of any kind and I have heaps of patterns for quilts, runners, table mats, teacosies, you name it! Not to mention things made with felt, and paper crafts as well.

Should we have a cup of tea or a wonderful chocolate mousse? It would be hard to resist one of your adorable little appliqued tea cups, for sure!

So creative, you are! I do a lot of applique work with some embroidery now and then.

Could I ask a favor of you? Could you show us how you carry your thread from one stitch to another on the back of your work? I'm getting ready to embroider some dish towels and don't want the back to be tacky. :)

Kathleen, a quick 'hello' before rushing off to work :p

Oh, I just LOVE your applique, and yes, I tried it once (LOL), but never finished. I think I bit off too much. It was going to be a whole scene...like a painting.

But you have inspired me, and I may think about doing that on a towel that I won in a giveaway, along with a lovely handmade embroidered table runner. Hmmm...the mind is thinking.

I definitely will be back to check out your mousse recipe...yummy, yummy...I love chocolate mousse. But must get going now.

Sending hugs,
Marianne xo

P.S. I forgot, I did applique some hearts for Valentine's day a few years back. I think I need more practice...thank you for the inspiration.

How pretty! I just to embroider, I havn't in years.
I saw a beautiful, old quilt yesterday at an antique shop that had alternating embroidered squares. It was gorgeous! Had some damage to it but would still be nice to have hanging over a quilt frame or something.
