The Mexican Hat Coneflowers are blooming

and catching my attention

as they sway in the breeze on the prairie grounds

how could I resist the opportunity to capture them in
my hand embroidery?

I also gathered some seed......in hopes to get them to grow next year in my flower beds.

A good while back,  I posted my version of a zinnia in my embroidery
and .......then.......I got busy on another project and didn't finish the rest of the piece

this week, I finally finished the jar I designed it in

and finished the leaves and stem

now the piece is complete.
As most of you know.......I love zinnias and plant large gardens of them every year.
And I love to cut and place them in mason jars for the dining table.
How about you?
Do you like flowers on your dining table?
What kind of vase do you use?
I would love to hear!

The golden glow of the late afternoon

enters the house and fills it with a calm and comfort.

Throughout the day.......I am aware of the weather going on outside.....
whether it be cold wind blowing and snow falling,
rain dripping,
or hot and muggy , with the sun baking
the parched earth.........
no matter what the conditions........the end of the day wraps it's peacefulness
around the house and says.........
"your home"

While going through my never ending stash......I came upon this printed piece
waiting to be stitched........

and it's one phrase summed up all that I feel when I am ready to settle down in the late
afternoon to stitch.

It's not finished yet........I still have a few flowers and leaves to
embroider

but the words are done............
Bless.........what a wonderful word.........
it's how I feel.........blessed
Here's wishing you the same feeling!

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck. ~Emma Goldman

When I found the quote above.....I thought..."how fitting".......so why not have roses.......
instead of diamonds........around your neck?
I showed you this coat in my last post

and decided to embroider red roses all along the front and soon........the collar.

I decided ... to do the leaves in green..........instead of red........

I want the roses to be noticed and I think by doing the leaves in green.......it will draw the eye to the embroidery when the coat is worn........don't you think?

I still have a lot to do..........and I am not sure how much I will do.
But I want this coat to "sing" with embroidery.
Hope this finds you happily creating in your corner of the world.
