From worn and weathered...........

to farmhouse charm

this set of chairs has been with me for over 30 years. They were painted and used a lot around our small table at our family dinners..........but then I got a new dining room set for our home when we moved to our country home years ago........

and the chairs sat in storage.  Two years ago I opened my vintage shop and gave these chairs a new look with different brightly colored paint for each and a hand cross stitched backing.
I have had them for sale........but the different colors have not appealed to anyone.........
but me.......sigh

for the last 2 weeks ,  I have labored at removing the paint and re-painting the chairs in a country white with black ring accent.......now they have farmhouse charm........
don't you think?

the same cross stitch backs
"Winter"

"Spring"

"Summer"

"Autumn"

now they sit in my shop around the vintage table with vintage dishware.
You can visit my facebook shop page to see more dishware and things in my shop if you would like,
just click onto this link  Yesteryear Shop

I have just found another set of chairs........waiting to be embroidered.
I think I will do my regular embroidery on these instead of cross stitch.
Wish you could all come to visit me..........we could sit at this table while we enjoyed pie and coffee.......and wonderful conversation!

Your chairs are very unique and beautiful! The cross stitch makes them so lovely-and seeing them around the table is just perfect. I wish we could drop in on you someday!!

I do like this better than the colors...I think they might also do well to have a light wiped on 'aging' stain applied to bring out the carvings and turned details...but they do look wonderful now 'as is'...hope they move soon - And yes, I'd love to stop in for a cup of tea and a chat, too!

Wow! I like the colorful chairs, but the new look suits the cross-stitch better. Very pretty and unique.

I do like the chairs both ways and they look very elegant with your cross stitch on them. I would love to visit; both you and your animals!
