I'm back to my embroidery needle,

after finishing this crocheted doily.
You might remember a couple of posts back that I started this doily a few weeks ago. In the midst of it, I realized that the white thread I had chosen, was way to heavy...........also, I wanted more of a vintage look.

So I started all over............beginning the center with a pink thread, and then crocheted one ring of sage green around that............
then I chose an ecru color thread, much lighter in weight and just love the results.Looks so much prettier........don't you think?
How about you? Have you ever started a project,..........then right in the middle of it............realize it's not what you wanted in color or size? Did you just put it away and forgot about it..........or did you re-do and wound up with a wonderful finished piece?
I would love to hear!

I'm still stitching...........

and crocheting...........and quilting...........
late at night................
but during the day........my fingers have been busy in the dirt......planting flowers. It is such a wonderful time of year where everywhere I turn, pots of blossoms beckon me to take them home ........and I do.
How about you? Have you brought home some pretty posies?

I have put away my embroidery needle

just for a while..................and have picked up my crochet hook................
to try something different. I love the texture of thread crochet, and I love the old fashioned charm it holds.I usually "play it safe in crochet" by choosing a simple pineapple or granny square design. However, I have been wanting to learn something new.....................
This is supposed to be a good size doily.......about 18 inches,................. when I get through with it. I have enjoyed crocheting the late night hours away on this piece. Not sure what I will exactly use it for..............probably store it away .................. to be handed down years from now. I just enjoy the process of getting a piece like this done. How about you?
Do  you have any crocheted doilies in your possession? Were they created by some talented woman in your family and then handed down to you? Or were you lucky enough to rescue it from a shelf in a store? I would love to hear!
