There are several places I love to go and sit outside..... either to sew, to read, to pray, or just to do nothing but listen to the quietness around me. The front porch is a welcoming place during this time of year when the mesquitos have not yet started their war and it's still chilly enough that flies don't "fly" around so much. The view from this spot is wonderful, for if I sit still enough, a bobcat, turkey or coyote will come into the yard and stay just long enough for me to get a good look. It's a wonderful place for lemonade, ice tea, and long conversations.
Very pretty "sit a spell" spot you have. Deep porches are such a joy - we don't sit out much here but that is always on my round to it list - put some nice chairs out on our porch and enjoy them. Some day we'll get "round to it" - meantime thanks for sharing your spot.
ReplyDeleteYour retreat is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteJust the sort of place that our family dreams about!
I know what you mean about those mosquitoes, but they're already out and about, here, in Louisiana!
I want to plant a pumpkin farm, too, and a Christmas tree farm....
Can I live vicariously through you, 'til our time comes?
Blessings,
Julie
What a peaceful place to be-

Wow, what a peaceful looking place, Kathleen! The front porch is my husband's favorite place to be in the evening...especially this time of year. Love the swing, too- no porch is complete without one!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to join you on your porch!!!! It's always my favorite place to be! I'm drooling over those pillow cases. I just have a thing for vintage linens, the old embroideries, etc. You did such a lovely job and I just LOVE the edgings!!!!! Great work! I'll be back! Cora
ReplyDeleteI love your work and your porch where you have some alone time is inviting. My back deck is my quiet place, however there is no cover so I am looking forward to spring.
ReplyDeleteI love your porch where you can sit and enjoy....I have the same swing on my front porch and I love to watch the world go by. Linda
