The weekend was filled with the gardening and embroidery worked I had planned to do, yet, I was still able to "steal away" to a neighboring town for their trade days. We usually go at least once a year. Last year, I enjoyed the folks who brought their turkey, chickens and pheasants for sale. I also met the little old man who gave me the pine cone seeds and who planted the idea of raising pine trees in my heart. So as soon as we arrived, I headed out in search of these two favorites. I was so disappointed, as I did not find either one. However, all was not lost. I found these pretty cafe curtains at a booth for such a good price. They are from the Martha Stewart Collection. I did not buy them for my windows, I bought them because the embroidery and edging is beautiful. I was thinking how pretty one would be made into an apron perhaps? I still have plenty gingham and floral material that would also be pretty to go along with it, or it would be just as nice left alone with just a apron tie belt of white cotton added. I always hang on to something like this for a little while before I take scissors to it. Other ideas always pop up.
Kathleen, I am again so thrilled to view your handywork (or is it partly the handy work of your husband.) I visited "Eggs" blog, but decided to comment here. The greenhouse is wonderful. You are one busy gal, and I'm glad you are sharing your life with me!
ReplyDeleteHow pretty; you are so creative, I love reading about your ideas and seeing your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great weekend!
Blessings,
Pam
"Trade Days" sounds like something I would enjoy- I love going to the little outdoor flea markets around here, too, Kathleen. You see everything from chickens to quilts. The one we like best is about an hour away from us, but is near a Mennonite community (they live like the Amish) and the women always bring baked goods to sell. Yum!
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds most enjoyble and Trade Days sounds like something I would enjoy...I love markets and peddlers fairs. With your talents you could turn these pretty curtains into sweet aprons, that's a neat idea I would never have thought of. Linda
ReplyDeleteHello Kathleen, I love the curtains, at first glance I thought it was a vintage apron! I love pine trees too, we have so many here. My hubby loves trees so he planted hundreds of different pines when we moved in. I like white pine because the needles they drop are great for my rose beds as a mulch, the roses love them. Thank you for stopping by!

Just love your blog and all your embroidery finds and your handiwork!!!! I come often! The first thing I thought of when I saw your trade day find was an apron!!! Then, when I read further in your post, I saw you had the same inclinations!!!! Can't wait to see what you do with it. Cora
