Moss Rose or Rose Moss pattern

I have always loved the "rose moss" design. However, I have not done any research on when this design was popular or which company produced it. Do any of you have any idea? The tea pot above was given to me by Bell, my elderly friend who has an antique shop. It is very special because it has a music box in the bottom. It still plays, however, I do not know the tune. There is no print on the bottom of the pot either. Have any of you seen this kind? It is one of my favorite pieces.
A few more pieces of the rose moss pattern. The little coffee pot on the right side has a metal heating element inside of the bottom of the pot and a plug on the outside. I do not have the electric cord that I guess, came with it. Do any of you have any information on any of these pieces or the Rose Moss design? I would love to hear!

Soon to be 100 years old

My daughter is only 19 and she is fortunate enough to own two quilts. One made by her grandmother which I will post later,was made when my daughter was nine. I let her use it on her bed. She loved it and it is very worn and I have repaired it many times. It was made by machine. I think it will always be my daughter's favorite.

and this one made by her great-grandmother. My husband's grandmother Ida, made this quilt in 1936.It will be 100 years old when my daughter turns 47. Completely hand pieced, appliqued and quilted. I have kept it in storage for my daughter for a later date,where she will take good care of it.
When our daughter turned one, my husband's grandmother brought this out of her trunk and told me that she wanted my daughter to have it.

I told her that I would put it away to save for my daughter to have when she was old enough to take care of it. I remember how she smiled when I told her this. It is in pristine condition. Not one rip or stain.

There was so much time spent on this quilt, even the border is perfect. My daughter is busy traveling in the Navy at this time, when her life settles down I will hand her this quilt with the history and a picture of the precious lady that made it. My daughter does remember Grandma Hughes. She lived to be 93 and passed away when my daughter was quite young. She is so fortunate to have known both grandmothers and to have such wonderful things handed down to her. Do any of you have quilts that have been handed down or perhaps that you have handed down? I would love to hear!

What to do with all of those strings

Over the years, I have been given many left over supplies from friends who have sewn different projects. From scraps of material, unfinished embroidery kits, and lots and lots of half used skeins of yarn.

These left over skeins are never enough to make a big afghan out of and sometimes, the color lot is no longer available. However, I think it's a shame not to use them, especially if they are a pretty color.
If you have the same kind of stash and if you like to crochet. Those half used skeins and little lengths of string of yarn can be used to make really nice throw rugs. These little rugs are perfect for standing on at the sink while doing dishes, to place in front of the door on a rainy day to catch dirty feet coming in, or in front of a fireplace for your favorite pet to sleep on snug and warm. These don't have rubber backing, so on smooth surfaces they can slip, so if you do make rugs, be careful where you place them. I don't follow a pattern, although you can find quite a few if you search. I simply, chain a chain the length I like, then I either single crochet, double crochet or use any other crochet stitch to make the rug. I make it as long and as wide as I like. It is a fast project and one that can be used over and over. They are also machine washable and very durable. So grab a hook and enjoy yourself this weekend. Nothing to show yet, I am still busy stitching away. The days are getting dark much earlier now, leaving me more time to be inside stitching. I have decided to delete my cooking blog. I don't have as much passion on posting on it as I do my other blogs. I know that Linda over at Somewhere In Time blog visited my cooking blog regularly as some of you other sweet friends. So for all of you, I am sorry,but there will be some good recipes posted on my country living blog "Eggs In My Pocket". now and then. I will leave the cooking blog up until probably the end of October. Thanks for all of your helpful comments and advice. I will be back on here soon maybe with something stitched up to show you!

I just have to post to say thank you all, dear friends, for your feedback and wonderful comments on what I should do about my embroidery shop. Some of you have emailed me with helpful options and willing to help me set up my site and other things that go along with it. What would I do without you? I have my "sell blog" set up and ready, but as you know with embroidery work, I am still stitching away. I want to have more than one thing of each item to offer. But I am making progress. My shop doors will hopefully soon be open. Remember the wild pumpkin vine I posted about a couple of weeks ago? Well, if you go to my country living blog, http://eggsinmypocket.blogspot.com , you will get to see the large surprise I found sitting in the middle of the vine and the large overgrown weeds. I am just falling in love with this fall time! The weekend is here and I have much to do. I hope all of you sweet friends have a wonderful weekend! I will catch up with you next week.

Can any of you tell me.... website or blog...should I or should I not?

Talking over making my website with my son, he suggested that I just use this blog to sell my things or create another blog to sell my embroidered items. However, I hesitate. I searched everything on the "conditions" of blogspot and can not find any thing on selling. Also, would anyone take offense if I did this? I notice so many of you have your pretty things on Etsy. I do not wish to offend anyone or cross over any lines by selling my things on this blog. I really need your advice and thoughts, especially honesty on this subject. Don't worry, it won't upset me if you think this is not a good idea. I just love blogspot because it is so easy to set up photos and pages. Since I wont have a lot to sell quickly, it would be very easy to handle, and most of all, you are all so good to comment and let me know what you are thinking. I would like to make this blog strictly my embroidery item blog and my "read all" blog about my life in the country would still be Eggs In My Pocket Blog.
