As far back as I can remember,

roses have always been noted as the popular flower for the month of June.
Have you noticed this as well ? {:

Among my collection of transfers and designs....................where the word June is placed, one can almost bet there is a rose to go with it. Such is the case in the set of coasters I have been stitching on.

The set has each of the 12 months, with a different flower for each month............and yes, this rose for June.

I am embroidering two sets at a time. One I hope to sell, the other I want to keep and use.

Perhaps one day, someone in my family will find them stashed away and feel happy to take them home. I love embroidered coaster sets.......... on a table, set with decorative china and embroidered napkins..................I don't think many use embroidered linens at the present dining room table much anymore...........
how about you?
Do you use cloth napkins with your dinnerware...........along with coasters?
I would love to hear!

  1. Hi Kathleen, Such beautiful handwork you do. These coasters are gorgeous. Even though I have several sets of formal china, rarely do we have occasion to use any. We do prefer to use cloth dinner napkins though. Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitchery with us. Have a good evening!

  2. Hi Kathleen, I do equate June with roses and are on the top of my list as a favorite flower. Your coasters are beautiful, I always admire women who are so gifted with their hands.
I use cloth napkins , but haven't used cloth coasters, but now am thinking I might want to try them rather than my regular ones. Thanks you for sharing, and for taking the time to visit me, and leaving such a sweet note.

  3. I love your work!! I have an embroidered tablecloth, stitched by my mother a long time ago, in cross stitches. There is also a set of napkins to go with it.

I have several vintage patterns, so fragile they can hardly be opened up. I did manage to copy a set of tea towel transfers, days of the week, and work them in redwork for a baby girl's quilt.

  5. Lovely stitching Kathleen! I only use my linen napkins when we have a more formal dinner - not when it is just Ken and I at the kitchen table, lol! I have one or two cloth coasters in my collection, but don't use them as such. I have many pretty cork backed coasters that I prefer to use. Mug rugs are the new coasters!
Thanks for leaving comments on my blog.

  6. Roses are beautiful and so is your embroidery. Hoping the summer will be a good one for you and not too hot.
