And let the beauty  and favor of the Lord our God be upon us;
confirm and establish the work of our hands
. Psalm 90:17

Although I have no embroidery  to show to you on this post...........
my fingers have been busily stitching away on a few things.
A blue jean jacket and a couple of shirts..........for a friend...
a few tea towels, and small items.
And I have been working on a paint by number painting.

It has such a pretty floral picture

in such beautiful colors........I just had to give painting in a try. Most of all,
it is so very easy to paint........and it is therapeutically soothing.

It requires no talent.........like that of an authentic artist.......
I simply paint......where I am told.....in the color I am told.
But just as it is with my embroidery..........for those of you who know me well........
I am going to somehow add my " own personal" touch to it somewhere.
I will show you that when I have it figured out.
I have no idea when I will get this completely painted.......I only work on it when I want,  out in my studio when I have the day to myself.
So come on all of you......run to your favorite craft store and buy yourself a painting kit........
and then show me what you are working on!

At night.........
I sit with needle and thimble
and stitch the worries of this life away.
Hopefully, you will be able to see all of this stitching in the next post.
So tell me.......
are you quilting,........embroidering.........painting.........
or tending to the garden?
I would love to hear

  2. Your paint by number is lovely! I haven't done any of those in quite a while. I have one here waiting to be done. I may have to dig it out and start working on it tonight.

  3. Hi K
I haven't seen paint by number done in forever!! I never really got into it. But I used to love to paint ceramics. I like projects that others find tedious. I started a new CQ block yesterday. Gosh, I can't believe that it took me a month to pick up embroidery again, though I have been keeping up on my Temperature Afghan. I make sure I have all rows completed at the end of each week.

  5. I used to LOVE paint by number kits when I was a kid! And would probably still enjoy doing them if I didn't have so much else to do...Have you got the latest colouring in books in the States? There are literally hundreds of them here in Australia, not only in bookshops, but supermarkets and just about everywhere else! They are really popular here, I have a dozen of them, as well as many paints, pastels, pencils, and pens to play with :-)

  6. How much fun is that! I love stepping out and doing something different. If you've seen my blog you know that I jump from baskets to rugs to quilting to table runners. Right now I have a quilt in the frame and quilt on it almost daily, also weaving a rug, and finishing up some Sunbonnet Sue blocks that I started in the 1970's. But....I always have my eye on starting/learning something new.
