When I found the quote above.....I thought..."how fitting".......so why not have roses.......
instead of diamonds........around your neck?
I showed you this coat in my last post
and decided to embroider red roses all along the front and soon........the collar.
I decided ... to do the leaves in green..........instead of red........
I want the roses to be noticed and I think by doing the leaves in green.......it will draw the eye to the embroidery when the coat is worn........don't you think?
I still have a lot to do..........and I am not sure how much I will do.
But I want this coat to "sing" with embroidery.
Hope this finds you happily creating in your corner of the world.
That is certainly a feast for the eyes, beautiful. You have made a simple coat into a treasure, a heirloom.
ReplyDeleteThe green does highlight the lovely rose. Soo pretty.
ReplyDeleteYes, I like your color choices which I am sure are even more beautiful in person. Roses/Diamonds...well I select flowers but not necessarily roses. I like the idea of stitching on the coat. Personalizing store bought clothes makes them so special.

Elegant embroidery. The green color shows up the red rose. It's very pleasing.
ReplyDeleteI prefer roses any old day! Diamonds just wouldn't work around here. The coat is looking great with your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteReally pretty!
ReplyDeleteHello Kathleen,
ReplyDeleteYour newest projects are all so pretty. When I was a young woman in college, I had a friend that had a few collared jackets, and she would embroider the sleeves and sometimes the pockets. I always envied her beautiful talent. I'm hoping this message is able to show. Wordpress users have been having trouble with Blogspot commenting.
The coat is a delight and with that lovely embroidery is certain to be a splash when out and about.
Have a blessed day, dear one.

Your work is always delightful to see, this was a great idea. With love Janice
ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely. The coat is beautiful even without embroidery-but you are making it a work of art.
