Do what you love,

love what you do...........
I have always loved this quote.

For me, it is hard to say just one thing I love to do
as I find myself drifting from one project to another,
I once thought that the only  thing I loved was embroidery,
from designing embroidery from nature,

making embroidered linens for the home
and to match vintage dishware.

but there are times, I love to make a little quilt,
work up some crochet items,

 create some mosaic work

and then there is ................. cross stitch.......
I love it all!
So I guess a saying for me would be.........
Do all that you love.......
love doing it all!
How about you?  Do you have several things
that you cannot pick favorites over the other?
or do you have just one wonderful thing you
truly love to do?
I would love to hear!

Thanksgiving is upon us.........and I have a wonderful
large crowd to cook for!  I always love this holiday the best!
A simple time to gather with loved ones and to be grateful
for all that we have!
Here's wishing you a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving!

  1. And ~ you are so good at all the things you love to do! Your work always inspires me to try to do better at what I do. Until recently, quilting work was my favorite, but with hand tremors getting worse a lot of the enjoyment of quilting is taken away. Crocheting doesn't seem to be bothered much by the tremors so I've done a lot of that.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment for me. I've been absent from blogging for a while and wonder sometimes if I will be forgotten. :)

  3. All your work is beautiful.
I enjoy cross stitch too. Also knitting and making weave-its. (a 4 inch loom which you wrap yarn around and then weave with a long needle. It makes squares and then are sewn together.)

  4. You are an artist for sure. I loved all the beautiful things you have made. I always look at embroidery and wonder who did it and if they enjoyed it while it was theirs. I buy some pieces at thrift places. I am going to look back at some of your other posts. Blessings for a beautiful Thanksgiving day with your loved ones. xoxo, Susie

  5. I love the embroidery of the roses. I don't do much handwork any more but I love it. I took some pics of a cross stitch piece to share for my Thanksgiving post. We don't have a big family dinner any more and I sure do miss it. Hopefully my boys will all be together for a nice meal. We are far far away from them. Sweet hugs, Diane

  6. Your title and the rest of the quote speaks to me. Your works are all lovely. I do several types of needlework, enjoying them all. Embroidery with threads, ribbons and beads, crocheting and knitting, although, knitting not so much anymore because it's hard on my hands for some reason.

    I love your mosaic piece.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving ~ FlowerLady

  7. well, I love that saying too! But it was hard to embrace until I retired. Well, not really, but my attention has changed to embrace what I love to do for my own peace and self-satisfaction. I have been here over time when you have shared making some of these projects. I have always admired that you "do what you love".

  9. Your work is so lovely-all of it! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
I do love to do a lot of different things-paint, work with fabric-and I do love embroidery, but I am not good at it. I still plow away at it-that's what my stitches look like!!!

  10. Happy Thanksgiving. I'm blessed to say I have a group to cook for too.
I'm a passionate quilter.....and a passionate painter.....and gardener. Love to do stitchery and hand quilt and I'm probably better at those than my other passions. But I do enjoy painting and every spring I'm hit with the bug to plant vegetables. Like to eat organic vegetables and, when it's from my garden,I always feel like I'm getting free food. It isn't free but it feel like it at harvest. Patty Mc

  11. I'm like you. I like working on all kinds of different stitching projects. Some I love more than others, but what is nice about them is that I get a change, do something a little different. All your projects are wonderful.

  13. I am late finding this thread, but here I am on the cusp of the new year. I wish I had the time to do as much as you get done..my husband Ken despairs of my craft room, full of stitching, quilting, calligraphy, art supplies, and says I will never do it all. Of course not! But it's nice to be able to choose what I want to do on any given day, not just be stuck with one project or craft that I might get bored with after an hour or so - ha ha!
