I love to set it ,at different times, with
a different tablecloth
a mix of vintage plates, serving pieces,
and vintage glassware and teacups
Each vintage piece just seems to always fit in
The old table comes to life in it's own vintage way
Lovely vintage serving bowls also add charm
Sometimes, I hand embroider coasters and napkins,
and sometimes, I use a set of vintage napkins
An inviting table for family and guests
If I don't have enough place mats, I often use vintage
embroidered dresser runners, folded to serve as such
Sometimes, I set complete sets of dishware
for a lovely farmhouse look
Take time enough for your meals, and eat them in company whenever you can.
There is no need for hurry in life—least of all when we are eating.

Kathleen, this post is perfect!! I LOVE vintage dishes!! I think I've mentioned that I have a collection of Homer Laughlin plates, platters, sugar and creamer sets. Every now and then I use a couple of the plates for the farmer and me, and when I have guests on holidays I pull out a platter or two for serving. Also, I drool over those beautiful scarves; they're so much prettier than plastic place mats! Thanks for sharing these pieces with us.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty! I love vintage table cloths, linens and dishes, and you arranged them beautifully Kathleen. I love your idea of table runners for the place mats. I never would have thought of that!
ReplyDeleteEach setting more beautiful than the last. A joy to see the vintage treasure all together.
ReplyDeleteLove mixing the patterns and your linens are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWith the colors of vintage pieces, it is so east to mix and match. Love your settings! Janice
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty vintage table clothes and loved all the pretty dishes too.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I share your love of old china-especially with flowers on it!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous displays Kathleen! I don't have vintage china, but I do have hundreds of embroidered cloths, napkins, etc. and I love to dress up our dining room table for guests, or the kitchen table just for me and hubby!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty! I have some lovely rose dishes from my great grandmother that are somewhat similar to these. Especially love going through vintage linens at the thrift store and bought several pieces while in Colorado in May.
