I am sure there are a lot of you who cherish old buttons, and like me, probably have a few of Grandmother's or Auntie's buttons tucked somewhere away in a jar. 
I remember while visiting my Grandparent's I would be allowed to go through Grandma's button basket and play with these beautiful pieces. I could sort and stack for hours. I also would string them on a string to make them spin....I bet a lot of you did the same? 
Yesterday I took a little trip out of town and on every corner there were adorable little girl scouts waving their arms at traffic along with their moms and dads. How can one resist and not pull over? I picked out the usual favorites...mint thins, caramel deluxe, peanut butter,....and then my eye caught the delightful daisy box! How cute they looked.One of the moms told me that these were the first time to sell for this year. I just had to buy them as well. 
They come in individual wrapped packages......
and they are a little bigger than large buttons! Look at the detail...aren't they precious? They taste like animal crackers. I just love them. They reminded me of my grandmothers buttons....the favorites that look like flowers. 
I think this one came off of a coat, I would love to knit a sweater to use this on!
and don't you love the detail in this one? I'm not sure what it came off of, again, I would love to use it on a coat I make. 
As you can see, the cookies fit perfectly with the buttons!
They are also perfect with a cup of hot tea on a windy cold afternoon! And now my question to you..... do you have pretty buttons from some loved one? Do you plan to use it or just admire it? What is your favorite type of girl scout cookie? I can't wait to hear!

You're right the daisy go rounds do look like buttons. My daughter is a daisy for the first time this year and I'm the cookie mom for our troop, so needless to say we have tons of girl scout cookies. My favorites are thin mints, caramel delights and lemonades. The new ones are also good. Thanks for supporting Girl Scouts and I really like your blog!

I love the carmel delights and the lemon ones. Well, I asked Mom once for some old buttons so that I could make a pretty cross-stitch picture for her and she didn't have any because she never sews lol. My Mother-in-law gave me a huge jar of buttons but I don't know what happened to it. It's probably in the garage.
my mother's mother had a pedal singer sewing machine and one of the drawers was full of buttons, and yes i did like to play with those.

my grandma was super sewer!! and she had jars of buttons that i loved to sort and pick my favorites from. i could spend hours occupied with them.
oh... girl scout cookies... yum. my favorites are thin mints and the lemon coolers. mmmmm.
LOL Those do so look like buttons. I bought a bunch of Girl Scout cookies as well. My favorites are the Samoas and Tag-a-longs. YUM!
I too remember Mama's collections of buttons, and now I wonder who has them. It gave me an idea also to collect all I have from the years of sewing for my girls. I'm sure I'll have a few.

I love to do needlework from time to time and if you have a spare minute I was wondering what type of "pencil" you use to do your own designs? I've been afraid of using a regular lead one for fear of it showing? I couldn't tell from your older posts what type you were using? I love to collect old buttons, too! Besides grandma, Ebay is a great resource for this.
Thin mint cookies are the best! And Edy's has produced limited edition girl scout thin mint ice cream - heavenly stuff!

I love all your pretty, old buttons! I collect old buttons too and use them as well. I have purchased mine at antique stores and some at an estate sale, but the most special ones were given to me by a dear elderly friend that was a neighbor of ours when we lived in the city. She is now deceased, but those buttons always remind me of her and her kindness! I keep mine stored in old glass jars and vintage tins.

I too love old buttons. Recently I stopped by a near-by yard sale. The lady had to go north last winter and is now in a nursing home. I really didn't need (or want) anything but I bought two things. One was the statue painted to look like her dog and the other was a tin of her buttons and other bits of sewing things. Years ago, I used to buy used clothing just to cut the buttons off and save them. That was when I sewed clothing. I don't do that now. Still I can't throw a no-longer-can-be-worn blouse away util I have cut the buttons off.

Mom gave me her button stash, & her old patterns. I have organized some of the buttons, but haven't gotten them all done. We may have to compare buttons, some time. The clear ones that you have look very similar to some that I have.
I may let the church kids use some of them for craft projects.

One can never have enough buttons or beads. I have a jar and a big tin full of buttons...they are a menagerie of baubles collected through the years. I am a sucker for the Chocolate Peanut butter cookies....you can't go wrong with the shortbread cookies with Strawberry cream cheese.
