I have spent this week sorting and cutting fabric...... more than stitching.
I have finally decided on a pattern and am beginning to work on the quilt I have always wanted to make. I have made a few small wall quilts, but never one big enough to cover a bed......
so here goes.
How about you? Have you ever worked on and finished a quilt? If so, what was the design and color? How long did it take you? I would love to hear!

I love your fabric colors and that tote bag is gorgeous.

I love to quilt, although I have not done much in the last few years. When the kids were small and took naps and went to bed at a reasonable hour I quilted a lot. I have made several baby quilts mostly log cabin pattern and five full size bed quilts. One of my favotite patterns is the windmill and the churn dash. I love fabric! I can't wait to see your finished project. It usually takes me about 5 whole days to make a large top and I have not hand quilted any of these. I do hand quilt the baby quilts and that takes about a week really working hard. (I teach school so all of the crafting is in my spare time.)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a good start there. Pretty fabrics! I made a very pitiful elementary quilt shortly after Mr. Sweetie Pie and I married for his daughter. The best thing about it was the love that went into it. But then, that's the best thing about any quilt.
ReplyDeleteweeeee!

Hello darling Kathleen! Do you know I think of you each and everyday? I sure do, because I have out the beautiful towel you sent me! I still have never used it...staying pretty for everyone to admire! Oh I wish I knew how to quilt! Have a wonderful weekend dear!

This is going to be a beautiful quilt! I love the soft colors you are using - very vintage-looking.
ReplyDeleteI have pieced several pillows but the only "quilt" I ever finished was a small log cabin wall quilt, about 30x30 inches. It was stretched and framed and given to my DMIL for Christmas years ago. She still has it hanging in her livingroom.
