many of you told me that soon people would show up..........
you were right!
I don't have a steady stream of customers......
only a few at a time........
mostly because of how far away I live out of town.
But ....that's okay..........I love the whole process of
being a "shop owner".
I love finding dishware and other vintage treasures to fill my shop with.
And also since many of you know how long it takes to embroider and finish a piece.....
while I am stitching away.........I don't have much to talk about here on my blog...........
until my stitched piece is finished. So in between the stitches........
I want to show you some of the unique and sweet pieces from "yesteryear"
that is in my shop
Isn't this the cutest figurine ever?
She has never been used. A pretty pink vintage" A Mothers Work Is Never Done by Enesco Japan 1950s Such a sweet figurine....... Still has the label on the inside of dish ( which reads, USE MY BASKET FOR HOLDING SOAPS, SCOURING PADS, ETC.) I have seen photos where the label is missing and the word " scouring pad" is written on the basket.
This would also be perfect to hold rings while doing the dishes or even to hold thimbles in someone's sewing space.............don't you think?.
Even perfect as a surprise in a Christmas stocking!
On the bottom the tag says by Enesco Japan This is an excellent condition vintage figurine, pink glazing is excellent. She measures almost 6" high. and 4 1/2 " wide. There are no chips, cracks,crazing......after all of these years.........she is still in wonderful condition.
When I first found her..........it was hard to decide if I really wanted to sell her or stash her in my collection.........
however, my first advice when opening my shop............from a friend who has been in the antique business for over 50 years.......was
find the things that give your shop the "feel" you want.........
then decide whether you are going to "be married" to that piece or if you can let it go.
So...........I decided I can let her go.........
and my friend is right............she is the perfect kind of item I want to sell in both my Etsy and my vintage shop. She may sit on a shelf for a long time.........or someone will fall in love with her and take her home.
That is the whole "wonderfulness" of having a vintage shop.
How about you?
Do you collect figurines............or maybe dishes?
I would love to hear!

Hi K
You really should showcase more of your pieces here and hopefully draw more to your Etsy shop. I love the vintage pieces. I have several displayed in my hutch that I swiped when my mother died before my sister whisked them away for herself. I wanted what I took to give to my daughter to have something of my mom's and because she loves vintage pieces much more than I. This little soap dish should fly off the shelf. She is so sweet.
Happy Halloween!
xx,
I love your shop and think it is so neat that you have it there on your home property.
That is a sweet figurine.

Your shop is so lovely, wish we had something like this in my area! The little scrubber dish is adorable.
Wish I could browse through your shop! I have a Homer Laughlin collection; bet you have some of those pieces. Those chairs inspire me every time I see them! And, it would be difficult not to keep the figurine.
That was fun! I really liked seeing your shop and it's "treasures". What a perfect specimen. She would be grand at any sink or work room and in such mint condition. I hope you sell her, but also I hope you get to enjoy her for a while longer. Any more treasures you'd like to show us....
I love the pictures of your shop-it's a beautiful place, and you have decorated it well too. I love seeing your individual treasures-the lady is lovely and unusual.
I like to buy vintage linens but find all kinds of neat things that I can't pass up at our thrift stores. You see a lot of really old things here in Florida. I think people move here with all of their stuff and then don't have room for it all. We don't have basements. Love your pretty things! Hugs, Diane
I love the picture of your shop. You have some amazing things in your shop. You've done an awesome job with the decorations. I love the figurines.
I love your treasures. You shop is lovely. Great job with the decorations!
Your shop looks adorable... would love to visit!!
We are in the process of "down sizing"...mostly old papers that have never been thrown away in countless moves that just got stashed into boxes for lack of time to sort through them; some old broken things my hubby holds onto; things we can no longer use. But, that makes it hard because I'd love to add new "breakables" to my small collections and can't justify the additions while all that subtracting is going on. :-) The little figurine is adorable! I don't have many figurines but love what I do have. I mostly go ga-ga over blue & white dishes, teapots, cups & saucers, sugars & creamers. I love vintage linens! I have a large collection of 30's tablecloths (just plain mostly, nothing fancy) that was given to me by a downsizing friend years ago, and I love collectiong table runners and doilies, and handkerchiefs. I will occasionally indulge a little in the small linens department. :-) It's just hard not to get the things I go crazy over when I see them! :-) LOVED seeing how the shop looks right now. You have some wonderful things and what a joy it must be to be there every day, working away and meeting the people who come to shop.
Your shop is lovely and the vintage pieces are adorable.
