I call them....embroidered & appliqued pattern ladies....

I have seen a few of these while browsing different sites
and fell in love with the idea!

Find a pretty pattern....like this

then embroider.......and applique the dress.....as best as you can ......
to match
Let me tell you..........it took me more time to create this
little dress than it would have taken to make the real one
I think. LOL
I enlarged and traced the lady onto a piece of white fabric,
embroidered her face, arms, and hair........and legs
I cut the scallops on the top of the bodice and bottom of dress.......
 and hand finished them......
I used two different fabrics to create the dress

you can barely see it.....but she has a light blue netting underneath the scallops of the dress.

I really enjoyed creating this. I have no idea what she can be used for
but it was fun just to make her.
 I call here Emma
How about you?  Have you see these pretty creations in different websites?
Have  you made any?
I would love to see!

I have never tried this, but I have a "day of the week" pattern that I have thought about using applique for the little dresses. If I can ever stop coming up with some new thing to do, maybe, just maybe, your inspiration will make me try this. You've done a splendid work here.

Really beautiful! I see lots of things I want to do but never actually follow through. Kudos to you for making something so unique and lovely.

I HAVE seen pictures of them, but not on a blog where the poster described how they were actually created. Your's is so so pretty. I suspect these would be lovely framed and would sell well. It fits right in with the items you love. Lovely art.

I have not seen this before-but I can picture many ways they would be so pretty. Framed, like Carol said. Or how about sweet handbags, or sewed to greeting card blanks? This is just lovely...

That is GORGEOUS! You're going to laugh...I read this earlier and went to the thrift store this afternoon looking for patterns. I found 2 cute ones for children but not really anything I can use for this project. I'll keep looking! I love what you've made! Thanks for the inspiration! Hugs

Kathleen I am so glad I found you. You are still busy with all your beautiful work. I've looked through your posts for some time this afternoon. My husband died in Dec. 2014 just a few days before Christmas. I've got to start blogging again. But am getting settled in a cottage/village for seniors. I love my place 2br/2ba. Anyway will do better at keeping in touch via your website. I have written another book since I last spoke to you.
