Restoration

I found an old chair at the dump and knew that the back of the chair would be perfect for embroidery

I cross stitched this design............

and placed it to the back. Now the chair has a new life!
I was given my grandfather's trunk........I love the outside and wanted to keep the way it looks

however, the inside needed some work...........

I picked out the wall paper I liked most and wall papered it. Now it holds my embroidered linens
(before)
Sometimes a customer will bring me a piece of embroidery that needs to be re-redone.
I remove the broken threads

(after)
and work new embroidery over the surface. Restoring it to a new usable piece.

What a transformation! The original embroiderer must be sitting up in Heaven smiling down at you :-) I often think that when I clean a dirty cloth that I've found at an opshop, and bring it back to its original beauty.
