Vintage blue and white dishes

are another one of my favorites in sets of dishware...........
I always try to capture those beautiful hues of blue in my embroidery while working on designs like this. Tea pots are also cherished treasures I collect............either in dishware or in embroidery.I  stitched it on a little dish towel that has dark blue pin stripes running through it.
Do you have a favorite type of dishware that you like to collect?

I stitched the top rim of the pot and the spout, as well as  the knob on the lid in a darker blue. The flowers were embroidered in a lighter shade of blue.

I also embroidered the handle tip in a darker shade of blue. I almost embroidered the floral spray in blue and white, however, I wanted the tea pot to stand out...............the rose colored petals and green vine worked well with this............don't you think?

To finish it all up, I put a floral blue and white edge to the bottom of the towel along with a decorative blanket stitch.  It gives it a "cottage look"..........I think.
How about you?
Do you collect tea pots or blue and white dishware?
I would love to hear!

I really like the teapot dishtowel, it has a nice, crisp and pretty look to it! The kitchen accessories I collect are usually decorated with apples. I always enjoy your pretty blog, Kathleen!

Why am I not surprised that you like to collect tea pots? I do have one blue and white one... one that came from the five and dime years ago, but it is one of my favorite little pieces. Your embroidery is beautiful...the dark blue pin stripes and the floral blue and white edge really make this piece extra special. Mary

Beautiful! I love teapots...I love the depressions glass pinks and greens...I don't tend to 'collect' a lot of things as I like to use what I have and you can only use soo much...but I love 'looking' at old dishes etc!! and wish... I could buy more than I do!!!

I agree, the rose petals let the teapot stand out beautifully. Oh, you are so inspiring me to embroider again. I'm not in your league, but I do enjoy it, and on certain past occasions have embellished some linens with threaded pallet.

I don't really collect per se, but I love embroidered linens.

Enjoy, the day,
Marianne

The red and green do work well together :-)

I have a lovely plant pot - round, brass, with blue and white china handles - it was a gift from one of my dear carers.

I love vintage china in general - those pastel plates that used to be around. I buy all my china and cutlery from op shops (charity shops) and have a wonderful variety.

I also habitually use my Grandmother's Royal Doulton china - why have it if now to admire and use? I've never even so much as chipped a saucer (touch wood)

I like this very much! I love Depression glass, especially the pink - well, really all of it! The green and the amethyst are also beautiful. I just love vintage dishes, period.
