Happy fall everyone! I am thinking that many of you agree that you have gotten worn out from summer and are ready to welcome autumn?
Along with being worn out from weather .........and life,
I have this shirt..........a favorite shirt....that I have pretty much worn out.
Although the photo gives a yellow tint, it is a pretty pink and white plaid.
I love the way it fits most of all and as you can see, there are embroidered patches.......
that is what they are.
Small holes have shown up on the shirt , the cuffs and the buttonhole
edging has started raveling. I have mended the raveling and used small pieces of my embroidery that
I have stashed away to use as whimsical patches for the holes.
Which leads me to
this applique rose . I have been wanting to make an applique rose , using
scraps of fabric I have on hand.........I first appliqued it on a piece of cotton fabric and then carefully clipped it out................I did a fairly well job..........but now,
what to do with it?
I decided to applique it onto the back yoke of my favorite shirt.
I have now started to add embroidery to the piece. I embroidered
the leaves and the rose petals, and then I just had to add a spider and it's web.
I decided on adding embroidered baby's breath that will fill in along and across
the top of the rose design.
I think after I have finished with all of the baby's breath, that
will be my stopping point for this piece.
Now that autumn has reached us, the holiday's are not far away........
