New stitching and a surprise from The Beehive Cottage!

I just want to tell all of you who stop by to visit me and take time to leave a comment, just how much I enjoy hearing from you! I love to hear where you like to decorate with linens, what favorite creative spot you create in,your ideas on colors and design, and what your favorite things to do on a cold wintry nights. I am so amazed and thankful to find "common threads" in this large world tapestry we all share!
Old man winter was a good guest....he came on time, he visited a short while,.. left a little something to remember him by.... and then went on his way.Everything was dressed in sparkling white,....when the sun shone, it looked like little diamonds across the prairie.
As everyone huddled either in the hay outside or by the inside fire.... I worked the cold hours away on a cross stitch piece and on a new design for a guest towel.

The next day everything was thawed out and sunny weather graced our land. I was able to drive down to the post office where I found the sweetest surprise waiting for me in my mailbox! Maryjane at Beehive Cottage http://thebeehivecottage.blogspot.com/ sent these precious hand crochet dishcloths my way! She crocheted them herself.

Didn't she do a wonderful job? The colors are my favorites. Pinks, creams and greens. Just lovely! Go visit Maryjane... she travels around in the cutest little trailer when she's not at home making everything lovely! You'll enjoy the visit! I love crocheted dishcloths, rugs and doilies. So my question to you is... what is your favorite crocheted thing? Do you crochet or knit? Do you have a special crocheted item passed down to you? I can't wait to hear!

i ran across your blog somehow.
i have to admit that i do not do any stitch work at this time and have only done a little in my lifetime. tho my grandmother did quite a bit, and i have her box of patterns. i just like to come by and look at what you are doing.

though i have to say that one of my daughters did this kind of work for awhile when whe was around 10-12 and was very good at it. maybe she will pick it up again someday.

right now, because of my back i have a hard time sitting, so it is hard to stitch on the move. so i do not see myself doing it.

however, i am a fan. and love to see what you show here.

i do not crochet or knit but my grandma used to knit all the time. as a little girl i can remember sitting beside her chair as she would work on her knitting and loving the click-click of the needles as her fingers moved.
I miss her and her hand knit slippers we would get every Christmas!

I do crochet, just not wonderfully well. But I do have some beautiful afghans my grandmother made for me ears ago. I treasure each one.

Can't wait to see your finished embroidery. It's started off pretty!

I've seen so many pretty crochet patterns lately, I may start again...I have a lovely blue afghan that my aunt crocheted and you have seen the Granny square one I made...plus I have many crocheted doilies handed down to me from my grandmother that I truly cherish....I hope crocheting really becomes popular again, don't you?

Dear Kathleen,
The dishcloths sweet Maryjane crocheted for you are so pretty!!! I love the embroidery you did for her... your work is just beautiful!!

I love to knit, but I have only knitted scarves and dishcloths. The dishcloths are not very pretty, but they hold up well! Hopefully I will improve.

Thank you for sharing the pretty photos. I love to see what you are working on.
Blessings,
Paula
