Sharing a common thread with those who love the art of hand embroidery

Lately, I have allowed things into my life that really stress me...........mostly from trying to make others......happy

now it's time for me to put everything on hold
no explanations, no excuses as to why,
I am just simply and kindly saying
"NO"
to emails, texts, ........expectations
and sinking myself into a quiet solitude of unplugging.

Trying to  please everyone is a recipe for stress,
misery, and frustration.
Note to self:  No matter how hard I try,
I can never please everyone.

I am not leaving my blog, I am just unplugging from demands and expectations of others.
How about you?
Ever felt this way??

We do have to learn to say 'no'. Learn to step back from all the demands on our lives and to 'just be'.

May you have a restful time unplugging ~ FlowerLady

Of course you should do what is best for you, but I feel sad that you are going. Your blogs are among my favorites! I hope a nice rest and time to reflect on the important things in life will make things better. I am loving another look at your amazing quilt block. How beautiful!

A lesson I learnt many years ago.

YES!! And in a way, this is the reason I'm taking a rest from blogging. Every project I work on I'm thinking, "Is this good enough to show on the blog? Or, "Will other women think I'm a hick if I tell about my farm life?" For the most part I think the farmer makes me feel stressed out. lol

Here's hoping you can relax and continue making your beautiful embroidery.

Sometimes we just have to unplug like you said. I used different words to my daughter just last night when I told her I have just been wanting to run away. I have been stressing a lot since the death of my mom in Jan with so many things. I am really not sure how to pick up my life and move on yet and things are totally overwhelming me. I understand the need to get away. I hope you find luck in being able to say NO and stick to it. Wishing you the best.

Unplugging is so helpful. I hope you will find the rest you need. I know gardening always helps me, so I can't wait for warm weather.

Kathleen, saying no to things and people that give you stress, is the biggest freedom you can give yourself! I've always been the kind of person who doesn't hesitate to say no if I don't want to participate in something that others have asked me to do, and I have lost a few friends over time because I am honest and up front about my feelings, but anyone who tries to over ride you isn't a real friend at all, and you don't need them in your life.

I continue to enjoy your blogs and seeing what you create, even though I don't spend much time on blogs these days, not even my own! (And no, I am NOT on Facebook, LOL)
